Use Two Different Frequency BDA Systems on One Distributed Antenna System

Edward Steffens

As Division Chief of Fire Prevention, Fire Marshal Steffens was charged with community risk reduction and the pre-incident Fire and Life Safety concerns of the residents and visitors to Iona McGregor Fire District; Fire District AHJ. The chief began his career in the fire service with the City of Ft. Myers Fire Department in 1985. With over 36 years’ experience in the fire service, he has been a Firefighter, Engineer, and Company Officer, promoting to Battalion Chief and finally Division Chief of Fire Prevention. He has also been a successful businessperson; entrepreneur and real estate developer, small business owner, and has held a number of sub-contractor construction licenses in Lee County Florida. These experiences combined to be indispensable values in the very public role of Fire Marshal. Chief Steffens formal education includes an Associate degree in Fire Science, a BAS in Public Safety Management and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University. As well, Chief Steffens is a Certified Special District Manager through Florida State University and the Florida Association of Special Districts. He has made several trips to the capitol speaking to Florida legislators on behalf of concerns for the Iona McGregor Fire District. Now retired from public service, Chief Steffens has begun a startup company Spectrum RF Testing and Consulting. Spectrum RF has focused on three critical components of the ERCES industry so often needed: stakeholder guidance and resources, comprehensive data and support, and quality control for installations. Seeing the jurisdictional variances and often challenging processes involved in BDA projects, Spectrum RF recognizes these highly technical installations should follow from RF engineering standards as much as code compliance standards… As a retired AHJ and industry student, Chief Steffens / Spectrum RF is uniquely experienced in coordinating with fire marshals, engineers, contractors, building inspectors, and field technicians both new construction and existing buildings. Clients may be assisted in areas such technical writing and code compliance for plans submission, proposal assistance/guidance, wireless applications and any number of field tests, data reviews, oversight during installation and professional documentation.
